2025 #6 – Bluegrass Festival

Feb 26th – Mar 2nd

On Wed. Feb. 26th I headed toward Lake Havasu City to meet my friend Myrna. It was a long driving day and we met on Arizona Trust Land where we could camp for free. The next morning we headed to the Lake Havasu State Park where the Bluegrass Festival was being held. We already had camping reservations, so we got parked, then went into town to do some shopping. In the evening they were showing the movie “O Brother Where Art Thou”. I realized I had seen it, probably when it came out in 2000, even though it was set in the 30’s. Myrna’s son Mike was arriving after midnight and the BG Fest started on Fri. Feb. 28.

The next 3 days were all about the music, from 9am to 6pm except Sunday 9am to 5pm!! On Friday evening we went to a Japanese restaurant named Shogun, where we sat around a grill and watched as they prepared everything. It was great! There were lots of food booths and other things to purchase around the festival area. I’ve posted the program and photos of the musical groups, but no recordings. If you’re a Bluegrass fan, you’ll know who some of these folks are! It was all very entertaining!
