The first part of my trip was to drive south, visit some friends in the CA Bay Area, and meet up with Escapees Solos in Quartzsite AZ. After that, I traveled east in AZ, then across NM, TX, and OK. I spent 3 weeks in OK waiting for trailer parts, then I completed my drive home to the NW – through CO, UT, ID, OR, and WA. My trip was 3 months long and I got home in early April. I’ve been too busy now that I’m home, lots to do, and I’m still trying to publish travelogues. I’ll keep them coming!
#1 – From WA to Quartzsite, AZ
This part of the journey was mostly driving and avoiding bad weather. I didn’t take a lot of photos because a lot of the journey is very familiar – have gone this route many times.
#2 – AZ: Ajo and Organ Pipe National Monument
Explored around the town of Ajo to see the history of mining, and then I drove through the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. I’ve wanted to go there for a long time!
#3 – AZ: Casa Grande
I frequently go to an Escapees RV park in Casa Grande. Photos are of the Case Grande Ruins National Monument and AZ mountains as I traveled into NM.
#4 – New Mexico and Wildlife
I have often visited my friend Linda outside of Albuquerque and this year I followed the visit by going to the Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge
#5A – Study Butte TX and Big Bend
I settled into an RV park in Study Butte, just outside of Big Bend NP, and started to explore this enormous park.
#5B – Big Bend – Rio Grande Village
This was a long driving day to the far side of the park, with lots of things to look at. I finally reached the Rio Grande River when I got to the village and went farther to a nice vantage point.
#5C – Big Bend – Castolon – RioG
Long drive down Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive all the way to the Rio Grande. Lots of interesting sights to see.
#5D – Big Bend – Santa Elena Canyon – Chisos Basin
Kept going to the Santa Elena Canyon, then retraced back up the Ross Maxwell Drive and went to Chisos Basin to watch the sunset.
2026 #5E – BB – Terlingua Ruins – Fossils – Marathon – still under development
This was my final day in Big Bend heading north to Marathon TX.
